So we went to a concert at the Kammermusiksalle (chamber music hall) of the Berlin Philharmonic. This is quite the room to see.
The music was The Art of the Fugue, J.S. Bach's intellectual working-out of the possibilities of the fugue form. It was played by a string quartet, the Keller Quartet, and if you are interested you can listen to at least the previews at Amazon Music.
David booked us for this after searching the web for music to attend in Berlin this week. This was about it. Owing no doubt to our unsophisticated musical tastes, however, neither of us found this music especially interesting. David kept nodding off, in fact. The rest of the audience seemed pretty impressed and gave the performers 5 curtain calls.
