Look, a no-picture day!
We left Koblenz and drove 325km to the town of Bamberg, where David had booked us into a bed-and-breakfast, the only such stay on the trip. Marian took a few road pictures along the way, to illustrate a future post on traveling by autobahn.
Karl and Ursula Bredl welcomed us to their house on a narrow street in Bamberg. Their house presents a blank front to the street but behind is a huge garden with trees, carp pond, and vegetable bed—completely unexpected. Our room is an addition that opens onto the garden.
Only drawback to a less-formal accommodation is that they don't offer wireless internet, although Karl called their son who may come around tomorrow and do something to "fix the internet." In the meantime, just three blocks away is a convenient internet cafe where we spent a couple of evening hours.
